WHO WE ARE
In Your Closet was founded by boyfriend-girlfriend team Stephanie Jurist and Patrick Rood in the hot summer of 2008 in Brooklyn, NY. What began as a way to sell their own goods to make some extra cash, soon turned into a complete online shopping experience along with seasonal pop up sales taking place at unsuspecting spaces, such as lofts in the Lower East Side, empty store fronts in Williamsburg and even friends salons!
Offering a mix of fun vintage treasures, designer apparel and home goods sourced personally themselves from thrifting across the US at flea markets, scouring through Goodwills to Ebay, and even the crazy world of Craigslist. IYCNYC also re-sell designer goods that are taken on a consignment basis, past items include brands such as Diane Von Furstenberg, Margiela, Bottega Veneta, Chanel, Galliano, D&G and tons of vintage 80s brands. Armed with a plan to sell everything they got their hands on, from personal belongings and coveted designer duds, to their friends unused YSL heels or Moschino hand bags, this scheme brought them a fresh brand, loyal customers and clients, and the best job they could ask for. Stephanie’s experience at Matthew Williamson, Patricia Field and The Good, The Bad & The Ugly, as well as working for Patricia Field for a season on her costume staff for Ugly Betty in 2008, has given her an impeccable eye for curating individual pieces.
Being residents of NYC for over 7 years, Stephanie and Patrick have seen the trends of NYC fashion and the world that revolves around it and have definitely created their own style, that can be proof of what to expect from In Your Closet. Aside from the new online store, just released in 2011, IYCNYC plans on hosting some more pop up sales in NYC, more road trips to find the perfect items, meeting and working with new and exciting clients, and most importantly bringing you the best there is in vintage and designer fashion and other surprises!
Your satisfaction is our highest priority, we want you to enjoy shopping with In Your Closet NYC! We accept returns on all of our items, however please read on and make sure you follow the rules. We do our best to accurately showcase each item through photos and descriptions, any flaws will be mentioned in the listing. If you would like to return your item, you must contact us within 2 days of delivery, and ship the item back to us within 5 days of delivery. Items must be returned in original condition. Shipping costs (both ways) are the responsibility of the buyer and are non-refundable.
All items are shipped USPS Priority Mail within 2 days of purchase. Priority Mail has a 2-3 day delivery time Domestic, and 1-2 weeks for International. Regarding international shipping, customs fees and any taxes associated with the shipment are the customers responsibility and we cannot provide quotes for these fees. SELL YOUR GOODS
Many of our designer items belong to clients of ours, we have become known around NYC for helping fashionista’s sell unwanted designer goods to make room for new pieces in their wardrobe. If you are interested in selling your goods, please contact us with a list of items you have. We can then arrange a consultation and exchange. We take a commission of 30% from the sale price. Please only contact us if you are interested in selling high-end designer goods, new or old, or vintage pieces.
